The Wright State Raider Pep Band is open to all Wright State students who play an instrument regardless of major.

There is an audition at the beginning of the year requiring you to perform Fight Wright, the music for which can be found here. You will be required to complete this audition with the director within the first two weeks of classes. You should plan on registering for the class even before the audition as it is much simpler to drop the class than to add after the deadline for registration. Note: This audition is only required for NEW members who have NOT also completed the general Wright State Bands audition. Glad you asked! The Wright State Raider Pep Band is a registered class and regular participation at rehearsals and scheduled games are required.

Well, not cash money, but close! All registered members of the pep band will receive scholarship money for each registered semester that they receive an A in the course. This scholarship is cumulative for each qualifying registered semester. The longer you stay in the band, the more scholarship you make! Band officers also earn additional scholarship money on top of the normal scholarship.

We rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00-3:20 in room 190 in the Creative Arts Center.

As Wright State’s only athletic band, the WSRPB has many performance responsibilities. We play at all home men’s basketball games as well as a selection of home women’s basketball games, volleyball games, and we give various performances both on and off campus throughout the year. We also accompany the basketball teams when they advance in the Horizon League Tournament and March Madness! As a policy, we do not perform when Wright State classes are not in session.

Each year, we recruit band members to serve on the Social Media Committee, who help maintain our social media presence, or as Band Managers, who function as assistant directors.
